Travel Guides and Destinations

Trips is The Foodellers’ destination directory, bringing together our firsthand travel guides to Asia, Europe and North America.

The Foodellers is an independent food and travel magazine created by Veruska Anconitano and Giuseppe Milo. This section organises our destination-specific content, including country travel guides, city guides, itineraries, road trips, transport advice, cultural experiences and local food recommendations.

Each regional section leads to individual countries and destinations. The country pages provide the planning framework, while the articles beneath them explore specific cities, routes, attractions, neighbourhoods and foods in greater detail.

Explore our travel guides by region

Asia

Our Asia travel guides cover destinations including China, Japan, Jordan, Thailand and Vietnam. The articles address the decisions that can make these trips difficult to organise from outside the region, including transport, cultural expectations, route planning, seasonal differences and choosing between cities, islands and rural areas.

You will also find detailed itineraries, neighbourhood guides and food articles for places we have explored extensively, including Tokyo, Bangkok and several regions of China.

Europe

Our Europe travel guides bring together country, city and regional advice from across the continent. Coverage includes places we know through repeated visits as well as countries where we have lived, including Italy, Ireland and Portugal.

The Europe section contains practical itineraries, driving routes, seasonal advice, city guides and regional food coverage. It is also where you will find our detailed articles on Rome, Naples, Lisbon, Dublin, Berlin and other European destinations.

North America

Our North America travel guides focus primarily on the United States, Canada and Mexico. They explain how to approach a region where distances, transport and climate can change the entire structure of a trip.

Current coverage includes California road trips, San Francisco itineraries and food guides to New York, Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles and San Diego.

What our destination guides cover

The content available for each destination depends on how extensively we have travelled there. A country or city section may include:

  • Country and regional travel guides explaining geography, seasons, budgets and the main planning decisions.
  • City guides covering neighbourhoods, accommodation areas, transport and realistic daily planning.
  • Itineraries and road trips built around practical distances and the time each destination requires.
  • Travel planning advice for driving, public transport, entry requirements and common mistakes.
  • Food guides explaining local dishes, regional cooking and where to eat.
  • Firsthand experiences at cultural sites, natural landmarks, restaurants, markets and outdoor destinations.

The main country pages provide a concise overview and connect to more detailed articles. This allows you to begin with the complete destination and move into the subjects most relevant to your trip.

How to use the Trips section

Start by choosing a region: Asia, Europe or North America. From there, open the relevant country page to understand its regions, transport, seasons, costs and possible itineraries.

Country pages link to city guides, food articles, driving advice and individual experiences. If you are already researching a particular destination or subject, you can also use the latest destination guides below.

Advice that applies across multiple countries, including food safety, restaurant etiquette, tipping and general travel planning, is organised separately in our Travel and Food Tips section.

Who creates The Foodellers travel guides

The Foodellers was created by Veruska Anconitano and Giuseppe Milo.

Veruska is an award-winning food and travel journalist, a multilingual SEO and globalisation professional, and a trained sommelier. Giuseppe is an internationally published photographer and programmer who documents the places, landscapes and food featured throughout the website.

Our destination coverage comes from travelling, eating, researching and dealing with the same planning decisions our readers face. We explain what worked, what required more time and what travellers should understand before building their own itinerary.
