Homemade Bounty Bars

The homemade Bounty bars are sweet coconut snacks covered in dark chocolate that recall the original ones and which, using the best chocolate, are even better. They are also very similar to the Mounds. The recipe to make this homemade bounty is simple, does not require any cooking and involves the use of 3 ingredients that make it a great snack for both vegetarians and vegans.

Specifically, you need to use coconut flour together with coconut milk to enhance the flavor, and these two ingredients are then covered in melted dark chocolate. In addition to being vegetarian and vegan, this is a sweet gluten-free and dairy-free treat so it is definitely for everybody, children included.

Instead of coconut milk, you can use cow’s milk or even cream but in this way, the bounty will no longer be vegetarian and vegan.

They can be stored in a refrigerator, for a maximum of one week, in a hermetically sealed container but they can also be frozen and thawed to the need.

Ingredients for 10

  • 200g coconut flour
  • 200g dark chocolate
  • 300ml coconut milk


  1. Combine the coconut flour with the milk by mixing slowly until you get a smooth but workable dough.
  2. Form the rectangular bars, place them on a tray and in a freezer for 15 minutes.
    In the meantime, melt the chocolate in a bain-marie and, after 15 minutes, pull out of the freezer the coconut bars.
  3. Cover each bar with the chocolate, allow to cool to room temperature then store your homemade bounty it in the fridge. Pull them out of the fridge about 10 minutes before consuming them.
